Thousands of trans rights protesters gathered in central London on Saturday to rally against the UK’s supreme court ruling that when the Equality Act 2010 referred to women, it referred only to biological sex and did not include transgender women who hold a gender recognition certificate. With unease growing over what the ruling means for the rights of transgender people, protesters came together for what was billed as an ’emergency demonstration’ in Parliament Square
